Panchetgarh Palace Gets New Look: Purba Medinipur's Heritage Gem Transformed for Spring
•
The 450-year-old Panchetgarh Palace in Purba Medinipur is undergoing a major renovation, set to be completed before spring.
•
Located about 70 kilometers from Digha, the palace was granted 'heritage' status by the West Bengal government in 2018.
•
Renovation work, initiated by royal family member Dr. Srabani Das Mahapatra, uses traditional lime instead of paint to preserve its authenticity.
•
The Panchetgarh Palace Homestay, owned by Chowdhury Phalguni Das Mahapatra, has been officially approved by the West Bengal Tourism Department.
•
Tourists can reach the palace from Kolkata via NH 116B towards Digha, then Bajkul and Egra Road to Panchet More Bus Stand, followed by a short drive.
