Khargone to Get Rs 25 Crore Road Before Simhastha 2028, Boosting Tourism & Narmada Parikrama
- •A new 1.5 km, 10-meter-wide permanent road costing Rs 25 crore will be built along the Narmada river in Mandleshwar, Khargone, ahead of Simhastha 2028.
- •The road will connect Ramghat to the Narmada Bridge, passing below Kashi Vishwanath Temple and behind the jail complex, improving access for devotees, Narmada pilgrims, and tourists.
- •Currently, the route is an unpaved, narrow path, causing significant inconvenience, especially during the rainy season, and posing risks to pilgrims.
- •The project aims to ease travel, promote religious tourism, and manage crowds during Simhastha, with the Collector instructing the PWD to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR).
- •The new road will also improve access to the historical Phansi Bedi Memorial, commemorating martyrs of the 1857 revolution, enhancing heritage tourism.
Why It Matters: Khargone's Mandleshwar will get a new Rs 25 crore road, enhancing Narmada Parikrama, tourism, and Simhastha preparations.
