Pune Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Raping Minor, Justice After Eight Years

A 35-year-old man in Pune has been sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl.
•
The incident occurred in November 2018 when the 13-year-old girl went to call her mother at an agro-tourism farm.
•
The crime came to light in March 2019 when the girl fainted at school and was discovered to be four months pregnant.
•
DNA evidence confirmed the accused, Bajrang Ramchandra Khopade, as the biological father of the embryo.
•
The court also ordered the fine amount to be paid to the victim as compensation.
