Sandeshkhali Case: Shahjahan Sheikh, Brother Alamgir Denied Bail by Calcutta HC

Calcutta High Court rejects bail pleas of Sheikh Shahjahan and his brother Alamgir in the Sandeshkhali case.

The accused were involved in an attack on ED officials during a raid related to a multi-crore PDS distribution scam.

CBI counsel argued that Shahjahan could influence witnesses and tamper with evidence if released on bail.

CBI also highlighted Shahjahan's alleged attempts to threaten witnesses' sons through underworld associates while in jail.

Justice Subhra Ghosh accepted CBI's arguments, but Shahjahan retains the right to file a new bail application based on investigation progress.
