Bengaluru Airport Rail Link Approved: End of Traffic Trauma by 2030

•Indian Railways and K-RIDE have approved the final design for a dedicated suburban rail link to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
•The 4,100 crore rupee project, part of the Sampige Line (Corridor 1), aims for completion by March 2030.
•An 8.5 km line will include a 3.5 km underground section within the airport to avoid interference with flight operations.
•Four stations are planned: BK Halli, KIADB Aerospace Park (ground-level), and Airport City, Airport Terminal (underground).
•The rail link promises a 60-minute commute from Majestic to KIA, significantly reducing traffic on Airport Road.
