Bandhavgarh Tigress MT-10 Roars in Mukundra: Successful Soft Release Boosts Tiger Population
•
Tigress MT-10, 3.5 years old, from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, successfully soft-released into Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve, Kota.
•
She was kept in a one-hectare soft enclosure in Jhamra Valley, monitored 24/7, and proved healthy, active, and made her first kill.
•
Forest officials hope MT-10 will pair with male tiger MT-5, leading to natural breeding and an increase in Mukundra's tiger population.
•
This inter-state translocation is a major success, following a similar rehabilitation from Pench to Ramgarh Vishdhari.
•
Mukundra now has 6 tigers in the open forest, boosting the ecosystem and wildlife tourism in Kota and Bundi districts.
