A video of the attack went viral, intensifying public concern and prompting villagers to avoid fields and keep children indoors.

Forest Department teams from Pushkar and Nasirabad ranges have cordoned off the area and set up cages to capture the leopard.

Drone cameras are being used for surveillance in fields, bushes, and drains to locate the animal.

DFO P. Balamurugan urged villagers not to panic, provoke the leopard, or approach it, and to immediately inform the Forest Department.
