Rajasthan Cabinet Scraps Two-Child Norm for Panchayat, Municipal Elections
•Rajasthan Cabinet approves amendment bills to remove the two-child norm for contesting Panchayat and Municipal elections.
•Law Minister Jogaram Patel confirmed the decision, stating the bills are likely to be introduced in the current Assembly session.
•Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore emphasized the decision as a 'need of the hour,' unrelated to statements by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat or Bageshwar Dham's Dhirendra Shastri.
•The previous two-child norm, implemented in 1995 by the Bhairon Singh Shekhawat government, has now been reversed by the Bhajanlal government.
•Minister Jogaram Patel noted that improved conditions mean the population pressure is not as high as before, justifying the change.
