Invisible Bat's Deadly Strike: US Submarine Sinks Iranian Warship
•
An Iranian naval warship, IRIS Dena, was reportedly destroyed by a US submarine in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka on March 4.
•
Submarines are called "sea bats" due to their use of sonar technology, which mimics a bat's echolocation to detect targets silently underwater.
•
Operating stealthily 100-300 meters deep, US submarines track enemy ships using sonar, remaining undetected due to their extreme quietness.
•
The primary weapon, a torpedo, is a "fire and forget" missile guided by internal sonar to the target's engine sound.
•
Torpedos explode beneath the ship, causing a "bubble jet effect" that lifts and then pulls the vessel down, often breaking it apart.
