UGC Declares 4 UP Universities Fake: Degrees Worthless, Students Warned
•UGC identifies 4 universities in Uttar Pradesh as fake, rendering their degrees invalid for jobs or further studies.
•The number of fake universities nationwide has increased from 20 to 32 in two years, with Delhi having the most (12) and UP second.
•Students and parents are advised to verify institution recognition on ugc.gov.in before admission to avoid fraud.
•The fake universities in UP include Gandhi Hindi Vidyapeeth Prayagraj, Mahamaya Technical University Noida, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Open University Aligarh, and Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad Bharat Bhawan Lucknow.
•Separately, UGC extended Ewing Christian College's (ECC) autonomy until the 2028-2029 academic session.
