Alipurduar: Kalchini Youths Build Permanent Home for Elderly Kalabati Munda

•Kalabati Munda, an elderly woman from Kalchini, Alipurduar, lived in extreme poverty in a dilapidated hut near the railway station.
•Her previous bamboo-fenced house was unsafe, forcing her to seek shelter at the station during bad weather.
•A group of local youths, led by Pawan Lama, pooled their own money to construct a permanent one-room house for her.
•Kalabati Munda, who does not receive government benefits, is now relieved and grateful for her safe new home.
•This act of humanity by the Kalchini youths has been widely praised in the Kalchini Block.
