Bhangar Assembly Constituency in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, is a general category seat with a history of interesting political contests.

The seat, established in 1951, was a Left bastion from 1972-2001, but saw TMC break their streak in 2006.
•
In 2021, Indian Secular Front (ISF) candidate Nawad Siddiqui caused a major upset, defeating TMC with Left-Congress support.
•
Approximately 66% of voters are Muslim, and 19% are Scheduled Caste; no non-Muslim candidate has won in 60 years.
•
The rural, agriculture-dependent area faces monsoon waterlogging; a direct TMC vs. ISF contest is expected in 2026.
