Rogue Tusker Kills Woman, Injures Youth in Jhargram; Locals Demand Action

•A rogue tusker rampaged through Sankrail Block, Jhargram, killing 56-year-old Mithila Mahato in Kulghagori and injuring a youth in Dhanghori.
•Mithila Mahato was attacked by the elephant while working in a cultivated field and was declared dead at Bhangagarh Hospital.
•The tusker destroyed a banana plantation in Dhanghori, and a youth was injured while fleeing after being chased.
•Residents of Dhanghori, Chholakhali, and surrounding villages are living in extreme fear due to frequent elephant incursions.
•Locals complain about the Forest Department's lack of prompt action; compensation has been assured for the deceased's family.
