Farmers Rejoice! Mustard, Chickpea MSP Procurement Starts Early in March

•Rajfed to begin mustard and chickpea MSP procurement process earlier, with registration from March 15 and actual purchase from April 1.
•Central Government increased mustard MSP by ₹250 to ₹6200 per quintal and chickpea MSP by ₹225 to ₹5875 per quintal.
•Early start aims to prevent farmers from falling prey to middlemen and ensure fair prices for expected higher production.
•17 procurement centers established in Sikar district, including Krishi Upaj Mandi Sikar and various cooperative societies, for farmer convenience.
•Rajfed has already completed the tender process for gunny bags and transportation, streamlining the procurement system.
