•A dried Tulsi plant is still sacred, associated with Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, and should never be thrown away.
•Gently remove the dried Tulsi plant with its roots, minimizing damage.
•Wrap the dried Tulsi plant in a clean cloth, preferably red, as a sign of respect.
•Immerse it in a sacred river, or bury it under a Peepal or Banyan tree, or in a deep hole in a pot/ground.
•Chant 'Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya' 3, 7, or 11 times during immersion for positive energy; Thursday and Friday are auspicious days for this ritual.
