Gold Prices Plummet by Rs 22,000, Sparking Festival Buying Frenzy

Gold prices dropped over 10% in a month, leading to record sales during Ugadi and Gudi Padwa festivals.

Sales increased by 10% in value compared to last year, with immense rush at jewelry stores, especially in Telugu states.

Gold prices fell by approximately Rs 671 on Friday, reaching Rs 1,47,218 per ten grams, a decrease of over Rs 22,000 since the month's start.

Silver prices, however, soared, with a single-day jump of Rs 2,491 per kg, reaching Rs 2,32,364; silver prices have more than doubled in a year.

Experts estimate business worth Rs 22,000 crore on Ugadi alone, with further sales expected during the upcoming wedding season.
