•Experts estimate the name change will impose a massive financial burden of approximately 920 crore rupees on the state exchequer.
•Cost is calculated using Darren Oliver's formula (0.6% of Kerala's estimated FY 2025-26 revenue of 1,53,544 crore rupees).
•Expenses include updating all boards on roads, railways, airports, government buildings, along with letterheads, seals, IDs, and websites.
•Former Chief Statistician Pranab Sen stated common people won't face financial burden if old and new names are used concurrently.
