Southern cinema superstar Soundarya died tragically at 31 in a plane crash on April 17, 2004, while two months pregnant.

Known for over 100 films in multiple languages, including 'Sooryavansham' with Amitabh Bachchan, she had a 12-year career.
•
She was on her way to a BJP rally in Karimnagar, Telangana, when her plane crashed shortly after takeoff, also killing her brother Amarnath.
•
Soundarya had recently married an engineer in 2003 and was planning a break from films due to her pregnancy.
•
A recipient of multiple awards, including a National Award and Filmfare Award, her body was never recovered by her family.
