Puducherry Hikes Old Age Pension to Rs 4,000, Increases Widow Daughter Marriage Aid
- •Puducherry government has increased the old age pension amount for senior citizens, effective February.
- •Individuals aged 55-59 will now receive Rs 2,500 (up from Rs 2,000), 60-79 years will get Rs 3,000 (up from Rs 2,500), and those above 80 years will receive Rs 4,000 (up from Rs 3,500).
- •The increase of Rs 500 across all age groups was announced by Chief Minister N Rangasamy during the last budget session.
- •Financial assistance for the marriage of widows' daughters has also been raised from Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.
