Residents used an unconventional method, banging plates and utensils and shouting, to drive the elephant back into the Gulma tea garden.

The effort lasted about half an hour, successfully averting significant damage and ensuring the elephant's return to the forest.
•
Locals report frequent elephant intrusions from the nearby Gulma tea garden, leading to sleepless nights.
•
The forest department has been informed and assured increased surveillance and future preventive measures.
