Nifty enters 'technical correction' after 10.1% fall; Wipro worst performer
•Nifty 50 entered a 'technical correction' after falling 10.1% from its record high of 26,373.2 on Jan 5, 2026, to 23,697 on March 9.
•A technical correction is defined as an index or stock declining 10% or more from its recent record high.
•Since January 5, 37 Nifty stocks have declined, with 22 falling 10% or more and seven dropping over 20%.
•Wipro (-26%), Jio Financial Services (-24%), Asian Paints (-23%), Tata Consultancy Services (-22%), and Maruti Suzuki India (-21%) are the worst performers.
•Despite the weakness, ONGC (+16%), Bharat Electronics (+9%), Power Grid Corporation of India, State Bank of India, and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (+7% each) showed gains; BSE-listed companies lost ₹43 lakh crore market cap.
