Vaishnavi's mother revealed she had already given 7 lakh rupees to her daughter's in-laws, who then demanded an additional 20 lakh rupees.

Despite living in a tin-roofed house, Vaishnavi's mother was prepared to sell her home to meet the 20 lakh demand.

She alleged that her daughter was repeatedly harassed, beaten, denied food, and had her phone confiscated by her in-laws.

Vaishnavi's mother suspects foul play, stating her daughter would not commit suicide and might have been tortured.
