•Adhik Maas 2026, also known as Purushottam Maas or Mal Maas, will occur from May 17 to June 15, 2026.
•This extra month is added approximately every three years to align the lunar Hindu calendar with the solar year, making 2026 a 13-month year.
•It will be an additional Jyeshtha month, starting from Shukla Paksha Pratipada and ending on the next Amavasya.
•Called Mal Maas due to the avoidance of auspicious ceremonies like marriages and house-warming, it is also known as Purushottam Maas, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
•Devotees engage in worship, charity, spiritual readings, and pilgrimages during this period for inner purification and blessings.
