Pune's Nageshwar Maharaj Temple: Eternal Lamp Burns for 90 Years Uninterrupted
•
The Nageshwar Maharaj Temple in Moshi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, holds significant historical and religious heritage.
•
An oil lamp, lit by devout follower Namdev Alhat at Nageshwar Maharaj's Tapobhoomi, has been burning continuously for 90 years.
•
The shrine's history dates back approximately 160 years, when Nageshwar Maharaj, a Sadhu from the Nashik Kumbh Mela, settled there.
•
Before his departure, Nageshwar Maharaj gave his 'padukas' (footwear) to the villagers, who then built a temple for them.
•
The Alhat family and villagers have diligently preserved the tradition, ensuring the eternal lamp never extinguishes.
