Bajrang Punia gets 30th SAI reminder for Rs 9-lakh fund settlement

Wrestler Bajrang Punia received his 30th reminder from SAI's TOPS for the settlement of Rs 9.4 lakh.

The outstanding amount is for a training camp in Dagestan, Russia, from April 24 to May 28, 2024, which Punia claims he cancelled.
•
SAI's audit revealed over 300 athletes, including Olympic medalists like Mirabai Chanu and Vinesh Phogat, owe Rs 8 crore in unsettled bills.
•
Punia's funds were sanctioned on April 18, the same day he received a whereabouts failure notice, leading to his provisional suspension.
•
The email requests Punia to submit Rs 9,40,800 to the Sports Authority of India for final settlement.
