WhatsApp to roll out 15-minute auto-delete feature: Here's how it works
•
WhatsApp is set to introduce an 'After Reading' option for disappearing messages, allowing texts to vanish shortly after being read.
•
This new feature aims to enhance privacy for sensitive information like OTPs or verification codes, similar to the view-once option for media.
•
Messages will disappear for both sender and receiver 15 minutes after being read; if unread, they will vanish after 24 hours.
•
Users can enable this feature on a per-chat basis or across all conversations.
•
The feature was spotted in the Android 2.26.12.2 update and is currently under development, not yet available to beta testers.
