Unveiling the True Origin of 'Let The Music Play': Not a Punjabi Pop Song!
•The popular 2000s party anthem "Let The Music Play" is often mistaken for a Punjabi pop song.
•Italian duo Shamur, comprising Emanuele Marascia and Sandro Murru, created the track by blending Western dance music with Asian vocals from a sample pack called "Deepest India."
•The Punjabi vocals belong to folk singer Sohanlal, who recorded his voice for a one-time fee in the late 90s and passed away before the song's global success.
•Sohanlal's musical legacy continues through his granddaughters, the famous Indian Sufi duo Nooran Sisters.
•Other artists like Gaudi and Axel Thesleff also used Sohanlal's Punjabi verse, and the song was re-popularized by Janhvi Kapoor's "Nadiyon Paar" in the film "Roohi."
