China Seeks India's Cooperation for BRICS Summit in Delhi; Wang Yi Urges Partnership

•China has sought India's cooperation for the upcoming BRICS Summit, scheduled to be held in India in August-September 2026.
•Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged India and China to view each other as 'partners rather than rivals' and 'opportunities rather than threats'.
•Wang Yi emphasized following the path set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping to improve relations.
•BRICS, originally Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, has expanded to include Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Iran.
•Bilateral relations between India and China have seen normalization after military standoff in Eastern Ladakh, with renewed dialogue and trade.
