Indian content creator Sachin Awasthi and his wife claim they were detained for 38 hours on Jeju Island, South Korea.

They were denied entry without clear explanation and held in a detention center described as a 'jail' with no sunlight or outside access.

Awasthi reported being given 'jail food' and pressured to book an expensive return ticket, costing almost 10 times the normal price.

During transit through China, they faced further detention, restricted communication, limited food/water, and monitored restroom use.
•
Awasthi stated that while immigration decisions are authorities' right, they had no right to treat them like criminals.
