Chennai: Notorious Thoppai Ganesan Killed in Police Encounter After Attacking Cops

•Notorious history-sheeter Thoppai Ganesan was killed in a police encounter in Chennai's Madhavaram area.
•Ganesan was allegedly involved in over 30 criminal cases, including five murders and a recent Rs 25 lakh dacoity.
•The encounter occurred around 5.45 am near Chinna roundabout when Ganesan attacked police attempting to apprehend him.
•Police fired in self-defence after Ganesan resisted and attacked personnel with a weapon.
•He was declared dead at Puzhal hospital and his body sent to Government Stanley Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
