China's Exports Soar 22% in Jan-Feb, Boosted by Non-US Trade Despite US Dip
•
China's exports surged nearly 22% in January-February, exceeding economists' forecasts and December's 6.6% growth.
•
Imports also rose almost 20% during the same period, up from December’s 5.7% year-on-year increase.
•
Growth was driven by expanded trade with countries other than the US, offsetting a 20% drop in exports to the US.
•
China's imports from the US fell nearly 27%, contributing to a global trade surplus of $213.6 billion in Jan-Feb.
•
The surge comes amidst a slowing domestic economy and geopolitical uncertainties, with a 2026 growth target of 4.5%-5%.
