Delhi HC seeks govt stand on PIL challenging limited EWS beds at ILBS

•Delhi High Court sought the Delhi government's response on a PIL against ILBS's limited free treatment for EWS patients.
•The PIL challenges ILBS's policy of only 10% free beds in IPD and 25% in OPD for economically weaker sections.
•NGO Social Justice filed the PIL, arguing the policy is arbitrary, unreasonable, and violates Articles 14 and 21.
•Petitioner's advocate stated ILBS, a government-funded institution, cannot act as a "predominantly paid medical institution."
•The PIL highlights that even private hospitals on concessional land offer similar EWS quotas, making ILBS's policy "wholly incongruous."
