Delhi to Remodel 300 Km Drains in Major Anti-Waterlogging Push

•Delhi government plans to remodel 300 km of its drainage network in the next financial year.
•This is the first phase of the new Drainage Master Plan, designed to meet the city’s drainage requirements over the next 30 years.
•The plan aims to reduce waterlogging by 50% in 3 years and flood-related accidents by 30% in 5 years, at an estimated cost of Rs 57,362 crore.
•PWD has sanctioned projects in waterlogging hotspots like Azadpur, Mehrauli-Badarpur road, Nangloi, and Khanjawala.
•A similar drain remodelling project for Model Town-II, Model Town-III, and Kushal Cinema Road has been approved for Rs 48.13 crore.
