EC removes West Bengal DGP, Kolkata CP ahead of polls; cites poll preparedness review

•Election Commission replaced West Bengal DGP Peeyush Pandey with Siddh Nath Gupta.
•Kolkata Police Commissioner Supratim Sarkar was removed; Ajay Kumar Nand appointed in his place.
•EC stated the decision was made after reviewing the state's poll preparedness.
•Other key appointments include Natarajan Ramesh Babu as DG Correctional Services and Ajay Mukund Ranade as ADG & IGP (Law and Order).
•Transferred officers are barred from any election-related assignments until polls conclude.
