ED moves Delhi HC to expunge 'judicial overreach' remarks in excise case
•
Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved Delhi High Court seeking to expunge trial court observations.
•
ED claims the trial court's February 27 order, regarding its money laundering probe in the Delhi excise policy case, was "judicial overreach".
•
The agency argues the court made "adverse, sweeping and unwarranted" observations without hearing ED or examining its evidence.
•
ED states it was not a party to the CBI proceedings where the observations were made, violating natural justice.
•
The petition emphasizes that PMLA cases can proceed independently of the predicate offense.
