Four-time PM Oli congratulates Balen after stunning defeat in Nepal polls

•Former PM K P Sharma Oli congratulated RSP leader Balendra Shah ‘Balen’ on his victory in Nepal polls.
•Balen defeated Oli by almost 50,000 votes in Jhapa-5, a long-time stronghold of the four-time prime minister.
•The 35-year-old Balen, representing Nepal's emerging youth force, secured 68,348 votes against 74-year-old Oli's 18,734.
•Oli, who resigned last year amid Gen Z protests, wished Balen a trouble-free and successful five-year tenure.
•Balen, a rapper-turned-politician, chose Jhapa-5 to challenge Oli, symbolizing a "David versus Goliath" battle.
