Govt Blocks 300 Illegal Gambling, Betting Sites and Apps in Massive Crackdown

•The government has blocked 300 illegal gambling and betting websites and applications.
•Blocked platforms include online sports betting, casinos, betting exchanges, and satta/matka networks.
•Approximately 8,400 such websites have been blocked to date, with 4,900 blocked after the Online Gaming Act.
•The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, prohibits all online money games and their promotion.
•Violations carry severe penalties, including imprisonment up to 5 years and fines up to Rs 2 crore.
