•Ayush Shetty, US Open champion, lost 18-21, 19-21 to Canada’s Brian Yang in men’s singles.
•Unnati Hooda was outclassed 21-14, 21-14 by Chinese Taipei’s Chiu Pin-Chian in women’s singles.
•Tanvi Sharma fell to top seed Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia 21-11, 21-10 in a quick match.
•HS Prannoy, 2023 World Championships bronze medallist, gave a walkover; Mixed Doubles pair Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde also lost.
•However, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, along with H Amsakarunan and M R Arjun, advanced to the round of 16.
