Jharkhand HC summons Dhanbad officials over rising pollution, illegal mining

•Jharkhand High Court pulled up Dhanbad administration for increasing air pollution.
•Court directed Dhanbad DC and SSP to appear in person before it on April 2.
•Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) CMD also summoned to explain steps against illegal mining.
•A PIL by Gramin Ekta Manch highlighted rampant illegal mining as the cause of pollution.
•BCCL counsel stated FIRs were filed for illegal mining, but police and administration took no action.
