Odisha Govt Sanctions Rs 4.65 Cr Compensation for Malkangiri Clash Victims

•Odisha government sanctioned over Rs 4.65 crore compensation for families affected by violence in Malkangiri district.
•Rs 20 lakh ex gratia included for the next of kin of Lake Podiami, a Koya woman killed in the December clash.
•Funds allocated: Rs 3.34 crore for household items, animals, vehicles; Rs 1.10 crore for shops, houses, and other buildings.
•The clash between tribals and Bengali settlers in December last year resulted in one death, 200 torched properties, and 1,000 settlers fleeing.
•Malkangiri Bengali Samaj also distributed Rs 1.1 crore aid, including Rs 1 lakh to the deceased tribal woman's family.
