Pakistan Eyes USD 1.2 Billion IMF Tranche as Review Mission Arrives
•Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb hopes for a successful IMF review to unlock a USD 1.2 billion tranche.
•The IMF mission will conduct the third review under the USD 7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the second review under the USD 1.1 billion Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
•Led by Iva Petrova, the mission arrived in Karachi and will stay until March 11 to complete the reviews.
•Successful completion is expected to release approximately USD 1.2 billion by late April (USD 1 billion from EFF, USD 200 million from RSF).
•Discussions will cover economic issues including circular debt, electricity tariffs, and the next budget, with Pakistan showing recent economic improvements.
