Physicswallah Hit with Rs 263.34 Crore Income Tax Demand Notice

•Edtech firm Physicswallah received an income tax demand notice of Rs 263.34 crore for assessment year 2023-24.
•The demand stems from the Income Tax Department treating investor funds, including those from SEBI-registered Category II AIFs, as taxable income.
•Physicswallah plans to challenge the assessment order, citing strong legal and factual grounds for an appeal.
•The company reported a 33 percent increase in consolidated profit to Rs 102.27 crore in the December quarter.
•Revenue from operations also grew by 33 percent to Rs 1,082.41 crore during the same quarter.
