Power Ministry Forms Panel for NTPC Chief After PESB Fails to Find Successor

•Power ministry will set up a search-cum-selection committee to find the next head of state-owned NTPC.
•This decision comes after the government headhunter PESB failed to identify a suitable candidate for the top post.
•Incumbent CMD Gurdeep Singh's tenure was extended until August 1, 2026, as no successor was found.
•Candidates can apply for the Chairman and Managing Director position at NTPC Limited until March 28, 2026.
•PESB has also failed to find suitable candidates for ONGC, IOC, HPCL, and BPCL since 2021.
