SC Grants Regular Bail to Key Accused in Rs 730 Cr AP Liquor Policy Scam

•The Supreme Court granted regular bail to Muppidi Avinash Reddy, a key accused in the multi-crore Andhra Pradesh liquor policy scam.
•The scam involves alleged large-scale irregularities and a structured kickback network operating between 2019 and 2024, totaling Rs 730 crore.
•A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi noted that 11 accused have already been granted bail.
•Reddy had previously gone to Sri Lanka to evade arrest but later surrendered and underwent custodial interrogation.
•The court clarified that the bail order was based on "peculiar circumstances" and should not be considered a legal precedent.
