Student Shares Passbook, Lands in Rs 7 Crore Cyber Fraud Case

A student in Bengaluru, Mallipeddi Reddy, found his bank account used to route nearly Rs 7 crore in a cyber fraud case.
•
Reddy accused his friend, Ayush, of misusing his account after he shared his passbook, ATM card, and linked mobile SIM.
•
Ayush allegedly claimed his own account was blocked and needed Reddy's account for temporary transactions.
•
The fraud came to light when Reddy's bank informed him of the Rs 7 crore transactions and subsequently froze his account.
•
Police are investigating the case, highlighting the risks of sharing banking information even with trusted acquaintances.
