•A Hyderabad software engineer was duped of Rs 3.3 lakh in a sophisticated fake part-time job and cryptocurrency investment scam.
•Fraudsters lured the victim via WhatsApp, offering Rs 50 per click for online tasks, initially paying Rs 8,500 to build trust.
•They then added him to WhatsApp/Telegram groups, showing fake Bitcoin trading profits to encourage investment.
•The engineer invested Rs 3.30 lakh, and a fake trading app showed his balance growing to Rs 6.40 lakh.
•When he tried to withdraw, fraudsters blocked access and demanded processing fees, leading him to file a cybercrime complaint.
