Assam Cabinet Renames Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College to Barpeta Medical College

•Assam Cabinet decided to rename Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) in Barpeta.
•The institution will now be known as Barpeta Medical College and Hospital, aligning with other state medical colleges.
•CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated the move clarifies its public institution status, avoiding confusion with private colleges.
•Another prominent educational or cultural institution in Assam will be named after former President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed.
•Established in 2011, FAAMCH is Assam's fifth medical college, offering 500 beds and 125 MBBS seats.
