SC: Female Foeticide a 'Crude Manifestation' of Discrimination Against Women

•A bench of Justices Manoj Misra and Ujjal Bhuyan refused to quash a case against a Gurugram radiologist under the PCPNDT Act, 1994.

•The PCPNDT Act aims to prohibit sex selection, prevent female foeticide, and address the declining sex ratio in India.
•The Act's objective is to protect the right to life of the girl child under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
