Kumbh Mela 2026: Master Plan for Verul to Ease Jyotirlinga Darshan

•A 1.65 km, 18-meter wide four-lane bypass road approved for Verul to resolve chronic traffic congestion near Verul Caves and Grishneshwar Temple.
•Project aims to ease access for over 70,000 daily vehicles, especially during peak pilgrimage times like Shravan Mondays when 5 lakh devotees visit.
•The bypass will connect Verul Ghat directly to Ahilyadevi Holkar Shivalay Kund, with a sanctioned fund of 43 crore rupees.
•Work is mandated for completion before August 2026, ahead of the upcoming Kumbh Mela, to prevent intensified traffic issues.
•Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) provided land for the route and will receive 6 crore rupees in compensation.
