Five people died on the spot, and 10 to 12 individuals sustained serious injuries in the Ranigaon-Shivaziri ghat section.

The accident, involving residents returning from a weekly market in Madhya Pradesh, is suspected to be caused by large potholes on the road.

Local residents expressed anger over the poor road conditions, claiming potholes led to the driver losing control.
